Nivember 4. Las Palmas del Mar

November 4

We had a slow day today after all the moving around.  We spent awhile in the lobby on the internet and then went for a two minute walk to the beach.  There are danger signs posted everywhere as this part of the island has a strong riptide, making me uncomfortable getting in the water.  You could see Viequez from our beach.

This is a huge complex, Las Palmas del Mar, and is even identified on maps as if it was a city, towards the ocean from Humacao.  It reminds me of Mill Creek, only with much more green space, lakes, waterways, and golf carts.  Each resort seems to rent golf carts (ours charges $30/day) and there are people speeding on all the trails.  We saw kids racing their cart on a narrow path...right towards a family coming from the other direction!  I think they need some traffic lights!

Besides the dozens and dozens of resorts, there is a marina and yacht club, a tennis club, a country club, a golf course, equestrian center, Windham hotel and casino, multiple restaurants and shopping cernters.  You could just never leave Las Palmas.

We did go to Humacao for lunch and shopping for food for our suite...our one excursion of the day.

The evening brought the most beautiful colors in the sunset and we were most impressed.

Finally, it was swimming pool time again before bed.  The lights in this fairly large pool changed the water color from purple to blue to green and it was very nice.  I told Jim that when it was green, he glowed, like in the bioluminescent bay!  Maybe he was radioactive!

Lovely, restful day!
